Habitat protection precedes ownership rights, MEPA rules
Dear Members,
We are very happy to inform you that the scheduling of the Wied Ghajn Zejtuna has been maintained as was proposed by MEPA in spite of 1 objection against the proposed scheduling.
The Ghaqda would like to thank MEPA for their active support of our association's goals with regards to the valley.
"The scheduling of a watercourse running through the Santa Marija Estate in Mellieħa led to a heated discussion at the Malta Environment and Planning Authority as a landowner questioned being prevented from constructing a boundary fence enclosing his property."
.......
"At the end of discussions, the board unanimously voted to maintain the scheduling as is."
